Andrea Migotto studied at the Politecnico di Milano and at the TU Delft, where he was awarded his Master of Science in Architecture degree (Honours) in 2015. He worked in offices in Brussels and Melbourne, and he was involved in teaching activities at the MSD at the University of Melbourne. Since 2018, he has been a PhD candidate at KU Leuven’s Faculty of Architecture. His research focuses on social and affordable housing, aiming to investigate strategies and domestic typologies to reform this sector in Belgium and Flanders. His specific interest lies in the relation between the private and collective realm of social housing, focusing on how property models, dwelling typologies and shared functions could redefine the political and architectural value of social housing as a form of welfare.
